Studio Grace was established in 2000 by the owner and creative director, Julie Gibson. Julie has a long history of creative development and delightful presentation. As a young child she loved to collect leaves, moss, bark, grass and all kinds of bits from the neighborhood - crafting collages and playing with patterns, colors and textures. That love of creating beauty using a variety of textures, colors, materials, letters and shapes persists today.
Julie is a degreed architectural engineer and avid letterpress printer. In January 2000 she realized that she was not ever going to design and build that bridge she schooled for, so she left and went to work for a friend who made wedding cakes. The baker had several clients needing custom invitations but didn’t know who to call. Julie offered to help and within a few months she had her business running in its infancy, with several happy brides who were telling their friends about her creative skills. Developing monograms came soon after and by the end of 2001, she had a letterpress and full studio in a lovely old warehouse building in Portland, Oregon. Since then she's had the pleasure of working all over the world. In addition to custom wedding invitations, stationary, and event branding, she now works with event planners, interior designers, bloggers, podcasters, and new business owners for all of their graphic design needs.
